Three research positions in the humanities and/or social sciences have just been advertised, about risk and ethics in the use of synthetic biology to address the climate and ecological crisis. All are ARC Centre of Excellence in Synthetic Biology positions, based at the Institute for Culture and Society at Western Sydney University, and all are open to international applicants.
Position #1: Research Fellow
The Research Fellow will conduct and manage primary research on ethical issues and values, and cultural shifts with respect to synthetic biology, with a particular focus on biodiversity conservation and/or climate change mitigation. Applications close May 31 2021.

Position #2: PhD Scholarship on ‘Risk and Ethics in the use of Synthetic Biology to Address the Climate and Ecological Crisis’
Undertaking qualitative research on the ethical, social and/or cultural dimensions of technoscientific responses to the ecological crisis and the climate crisis, with a particular focus on synthetic biology for biodiversity conservation, and/or climate change mitigation.
